Accra Sports Stadium To Be Used For Movie Premiering— Sports Authority Boss

Director-General of the National Sports Authority, Joe Kpenge has indicated his outfit’s willingness to rent out the Accra Sports stadium for movie premieres in order to generate funds.

The NSA has been grappling with financial crisis as it has been overburdened with the cost of managing and maintaining the various national sports facilities.

The Accra Sports stadium has continued to deteriorate in recent times with the NSA unable to generate funds for the stadium’s upkeep.

And in an attempt to find other sources of funding beyond sports, Joe Kpenge has said the stadium would start hosting movie premieres as a source of fund generation.

“We have been thinking about finding ways to generate revenue to run our activities so we are now trying to see if we can be showing films or premiering movies here to get some revenue,” Kpenge told Starr FM

The 40,000 capacity arena is currently a “death trap” for football fans with fears of collapsing due to the brakes and corrosion that has spammed part of the Stadium.
